Meals are available at 57 sites throughout San Diego at no cost for kids and teens 18 years old and younger. No paper work, no identification and no income verification needed. Special family barbecues are held throughout the summer and feature free meals for the whole family, free community resources and fun activities. Locations and serving times as well as barbecue dates are listed below. Families can also find serving sites near them by calling 211 or by texting "FOOD" or "COMIDA" to 877-877. The summer meal program is funded through the United State Department of Agriculture and operated by the San Diego Unified School District.
